'Tis The Season for Scottish Rite:

It has been a busy month for Boston-Lafayette Lodge of Perfection! Just before Thanksgiving, we had the pleasure of taking a trip to Poughkeepsie for a special Degree class hosted by the Valley of The Hudson. Read more about that special trip below.

I want to remind you all that the next Scottish Rite degree class is coming up fast! The Ill∴ Robert Johnston, 33^o, DSA class is being held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington. 

The Perfection workers learned a lot more about the special bond Scottish Rite Freemasonry has to offer on our trip to Poughkeepsie. Now is the time to act to spread that brotherly love to your blue lodge brethren. Don't let this opportunity pass! Extend the brotherly hand of fellowship to your friends and brothers.

Don't let not having an application be an excuse! We have an electronic application you can link them to as well as a regular one you can print and hand out on your travels. Don't hesitate to refer brethren to the download page of our website for either of these as well!

As we approach the new year, many of us will make personal resolutions for the betterment of ourselves and our world. I encourage each of you to make one of those resolutions a highly concentrated effort to spread the cause of Scottish Rite Freemasonry.

Perfection Takes Show On The Road

Thrice Potent Master's Update:

When people search the Internet for the “Secrets of Freemasonry,” they invariably miss the most visible and accessible “Secret” we have; the Friendship and Brotherhood of the Fraternity.   This fellowship was exemplified in outstanding fashion on the recent trip of Boston Lafayette Lodge of Perfection’s to the Valley of the Hudson in Poughkeepsie, NY. 

This new Valley, only four months after its creation, put on an aggressive program of degrees for about 55 new Scottish Rite Masons.  What they could not have foreseen when they began their planning was the devastation and disruption that Hurricane Sandy would wreak in the New York/New Jersey corridor. Valleys committed to attend from the region had to cancel or cut back their participation due to the emergent circumstances in their own back yards.

Nevertheless, the power of the fraternity was demonstrated by the commitment of the brethren in attendance.  It was an enjoyable and inspirational weekend, and the welcome that our Lodge of Perfection received was truly heartwarming.
