Consistory Update: Choir News

The Valley of Boston is comprised of four bodies. Massachusetts Consistory is the body that is responsible for presenting the 19th through the 32nd Degree to Masons who wish to expand their Scottish Rite journey. It is through Consistory degrees that they become a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret, and a 32° Mason. Within our Consistory, there are several groups that help, support, and enhance the presentations of these degrees. One of these groups is the Consistory Choir.

The Choir has been successfully operating under the management of Il∴. Richard B. Burgess, 33° and under the musical direction of Bro. William Nierintz, 32°, MSA, both of whom did a superb job in organizing and scheduling rehearsals, musical content, and degree performances.

As of the spring of 2013, the management of the choir will be under Bro. Evangelos Liapis 32° and the musical direction under Maestro Patrick Botti 32°.The Choir performs twice a year during the Valley of Boston reunions that are held in the spring and fall of each year, and we hold either two or three rehearsals before the reunion to tune up. Our meetings are usually held at the Boston Masonic building.

Please make sure you look for us at the Ill∴ Robert Johnston, 33° DSA Class which is being held on February 9th in Lexington. Feel free to approach us if you would like to become a member of this magnificent group! You can e-mail Bro. Evangelos Liapis or contact him by phone at at (617) 908-1646.

One Day Class, February 9th, 2013

In February of 1945, the United States Marines landed on the island of Iwo Jima to help further the cause of liberty in ending World War II.

On February 9th, 2013, the Valley of Boston will honor one of our very own heroes, and a veteran of that Iwo Jima campaign, Bro. and Ill∴ Robert Johnston, 33°, DSA.

We are asking that all Valley members go back to their lodges and ask non-Scottish Rite Masons to become a part of the Rite in this special class. Now is the time to act! Bob is one of the best men and Masons we have ever known.

Download some applications to spread the word about this upcoming class! The deadline for registrations is February 1st, 2013. Sponsor a candidate today!
