Canobie Lake Park - July 20th Deadline!

 

Family Life is heading north to Salem, NH to enjoy a day at the theme park on Saturday, August 10, 2013. Check out all the rides and other fun the park has to offer on their website.

 

There will be a luncheon included with the cost of your ticket to this event. Canobie Lake Park is home to the famous Boston Tea Party water park ride, inspired by the historic event our founding fathers and early Masons allegedly participated in.

Q: How far have you travelled for your passports?

 

A: In two years I’ve been to 40 reunions and travelled 12,000 miles. I actually had to make an excel sheet to keep track of it all.

 

Q: How many photos have you taken on your travels?

 

A: Over 1,000.

 

Q: What is the most impressive degree you’ve seen?

 

A: If I had to pick one: Degree 20 (The George Washington degree) as performed in Corinthian Hall by the Valley of Boston, on April 2, 2011. It was the longest standing ovation I had ever bared witnessed to.

 

Q: What are your favorite degrees?

 

A: When performed with excellence, I really enjoy many of them: 12, 16, 18, 19, 20, 24....

 

 

Scottish Rite Museum Celebrates 200th

 

As many of you know, the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction (NMJ) of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite (AASR) celebrates its 200th anniversary this year. In commemoration of this historic event the National Heritage Museum in Lexington, MA (our NMJ headquarters) is putting on a fantastic display of Scottish Rite historical items. Entitled "A Sublime Brotherhood: 200 Years of Scottish Rite Freemasonry in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction,&" the exhibit officially opened June 15th and is curated by Dr. Aimee Newell, Director of Collections. I was fortunate to attend the exhibit's opening with one of my Columbian Lodge Brothers.

 

Bro. Stephen Prentis, 32°, and I were greeted by none other than Bro. Elliot Chikofsky, 32°, Past Master of Simonds Lodge in Burlington, MA.
