Spring Class, Why Two Parts?

Last year the Valley of Boston held its Spring Class in two separate parts. This was to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Boston Lafayette Lodge of Perfection. The separated class saw the impressive feat of all fourteen Perfection degrees performed by over six different bodies. The success of last Spring was an excellent opportunity to bring back the concept of a multi-day reunion. But the question still persists: why split the Spring Class into two days?

For any officer, actor, crewman, or even candidate, a full day of performances can be a draining one. Even with the passion and love a man can have for the Valley of Boston, his individual cable tow only extends so far. Being active from sun up to sun down can drain even the hardiest of individuals. How can we help our members enjoy Scottish Rite at a more relaxed pace? Enter the two-day reunion!

Each half of the Spring Class is designed to begin at the normal time in the morning and let out with a luncheon. This will allow a man to have a hearty breakfast in the city, sit in for some degrees, enjoy lunch with his brothers, and head out with half the day still to conquer. We can spend more time enjoying the work of the day and getting to know our new brothers.

Do you have a Blue Lodge brother that is considering the Scottish Rite? Let him rest assured that his journey through our twenty-nine degrees will be more fulfilling and enjoyable over two days this spring!
